A letter to my parents
Don't teach your children before teaching yourself
Don’t teach your children to be astute before teaching them to be generous, they will be misers. Don’t teach your children to be religious before teaching them about morality, they will be blinded by faith. Don’t teach your children to be street-smart before teaching them to be considerate, they will be cheats. Don’t teach your children to be expressive before teaching them to regulate their emotions, they will be overbearing. Don’t teach your children to be goal-oriented before teaching them about purpose, they will be directionless. Don’t teach your children to love before teaching them self-care, they will be angry. Don’t teach your children to obey before teaching them how to disagree, they will be insubordinate. Don’t teach your children before teaching yourself, they will not listen.

This is so beautifully written! Each paragraph is concise yet deeply meaningful. Each idea could spark a one-hour conversation on its own. I can’t wait to read more from you!
